Join the RAPID team
When a disaster or sudden death hits a town in our region, Lifeline Central West’s RAPID team goes there to support people. You can help in your own town, from home or in the field. It isn’t an application, and we’ll contact you within 5 working days.

What RAPID does
RAPID goes to towns after a flood, fire or other disaster, or after a sudden death, including a suicide. We give emotional support face to face, Psychological First Aid and practical help. We also connect people with the services they need.
We work alongside local people and services. In Aboriginal communities, we follow local cultural authority and protocols. As needs settle, we help local services take over.
Field work can mean hot days, long hours and time away from home. You choose what suits you.
Ways to help
Practical help and logistics
Help a response run: driving, setting up spaces, supplies and rosters. Not everyone needs to be on the front line.
Community support
Join the team on the ground: at drop-in spaces, outreach and community events, offering a calm presence.
Knowledge, connections and planning
Help with admin, planning, research or advice, or connect us with local leaders. You can do some of this from home.
